The Sultanate of Oman is the third largest country in the Arabian peninsula. It can be found between the United Arab Emirates and Yemen, and it is bordered in the west by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

After marking 40 years of national development in 2010, the Sultanate of Oman is continuing its steady march to progress with the implementation of various development projects throughout the country. Currently under construction are multimillion-dollar tourism projects, large-scale industrial projects, and prestigious residential properties, including the following:

Name of Project Project Cost (USD)
The Blue City (Al Madina A’Zarqa) 20.0 billion
Mirbat Beach Project 2.5 billion
The Wave, Muscat 2.4 billion
Salam Yiti Project 2.0 billion
Barka Resort 1.1 billion
Tilal Al Khuwair 1.0 billion

With the continued growth of Oman’s economy, more major developments are in the pipeline under the country’s Eighth Five-Year Plan, which will run from 2011-2015. While the country is implementing measures to further boost production from its oil & gas resources, the government is also taking concrete steps to further diversify its economy by promoting the growth of its tourism, industrial and manufacturing sectors.
